First economic mission for Qadran

First economic mission for Qadran

A Qadran delegation, composed of CEOS of Qatari companies and led by H.E. Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar’s Ambassador to France, was in Cannes on Thursday 8th, to meet both the city and the region Provence-Alpes-Côte-D’Azur’s key players. This constitutes Qadran’s first regional economic mission since it was created just a year ago.

On the agenda, a business lunch at the International Carlton Cannes, property of Katara Hospitality, notably in the company of Mr. Philippe Castanet, Sub-Prefect of Grasse, of Mr. Bernard Kleynhoff, Chief Operating Officer of the CCI and Chairman of the Supervisory Board  of the Nice-PACA Airport, and Mr. Michel Chevillon, Chief Executive Officer of UHMIH Cannes Hôteliers. The lunch was followed by a business meeting with the Mayor of Cannes, Mr. David Lisnard and his counselors in economic development.

Why have you chosen the Côte d’Azur for this first regional mission ?

Because it is renowned for its culture, its history, and because close links have formed with my country for several years now. Our intention, is to reinforce the relations with our partners, here on the Côte d’Azur, and explore further opportunities for collaboration. We are here to reassure them of our engagements and the additional value we shall bring to your region, notably in terms of employment. This is our first visit, but not the last !” enthused the Ambassador while replying to Nice Matin’s questions.

A successful mission which bodes well for the reinforcement of the bilateral economic relationship, a few days from the very awaited announcement of the renovation of the mythical Hotel Carlton plan, and a few months away from the opening of direct flights between Nice and Doha.
